NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS

Mr. Ballinger serves as counsel for nonprofit organizations formed as religious or mutual benefit corporations under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, such as churches, Christian television stations, homeowners associations, and business parks.
He assists and counsels churches and their leaders on a wide range of issues, including disputes regarding ownership of property; negotiation of property purchases; internal disputes regarding discipline of members and the clergy; issues regarding the formation of supporting organizations, etc.

Mr. Ballinger assists individuals in setting up tax exempt organizations and with obtaining their federal income tax exemption.

Mr. Ballinger represents homeowner associations and is familiar with drafting and/or interpreting the operating documents, such as CC&R’s, Bylaws and Articles of Incorporation, and issues regarding the operations of the association.

LITIGATION

Mr. Ballinger brings extensive litigation experience and is licensed to practice in both California State and Federal courts. He collaborates with a network of seasoned litigation professionals, enabling the firm to effectively handle a broad spectrum of complex business-related disputes. In addition, Mr. Ballinger represents international companies pursuing claims against businesses operating within California, providing skilled advocacy and strategic guidance in cross-border matters.

SHORT-TERM RENTAL AGREEMENTS

Mr. Ballinger has developed a proprietary license-to-occupy agreement specifically tailored for short-term rental properties. Unlike traditional leases, this agreement is structured to grant limited occupancy rights—helping property owners and managers avoid many of the common legal and operational challenges associated with short-term lodging.

Working closely with clients, Mr. Ballinger customizes each agreement to reflect the unique characteristics of their properties and local regulatory requirements. He also serves as a consultant to the short-term rental industry, advising on best practices, compliance, and risk management strategies.

OTHER COLLABORATIVE AGREEMENTS

Our office also provides agreements to share office space, vehicles, equipment or just about anything else that can be shared. We assist in setting up cooperative living arrangements, cooperative businesses and other agreements that reflect the values of the “new” collaborative economy.

We offer a free initial consultation to learn how these types of agreements can re-define your relationships with your business partners, employees, co-workers, and vendors.
